Obituary for Alice Poynter (Clark)
Alice Irene Poynter, age 87 years, 11 months, and 3 days, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at her residence in Whitley City, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
Graveside Services were held Saturday, December 5, 2020 in the Pleasant Knob Cemetery with Bro. Joe Poynter officiating.
She was born December 29, 1932 in McCreary County, Kentucky to Walter Clark and Cora Taylor Clark. She held various jobs throughout her life. She worked at Cumberland Falls State Park, Hillcrest Nursing Home, and the Elliton Corporation. Alice loved her dogs, cats, and other animals and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were he parents, her stepfather, Joe Neal, her husband, Roy Poynter, 1 brother, Junior Clark, 1 sister, Anna Etheridge, and one great granddaughter, Haven Rose.
Survivors include a son, Lonnie Poynter, and wife, Debbie, 2 daughters, Lisa Poynter, Della Kelly, 6 grandchildren, Carolyn Poynter, Herb Hood, Beverly Poynter, Joe Poynter, Stephanie Hobbs, and Cassidy Poynter, 15 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.
The passing of Alice is mourned by all who knew and loved her, but we know that she leaves many wonderful memories behind. We hope these will be of comfort to you in your time of sorrow.
