Condolence From: Jim and Peggy Rector
Condolence: Pooh will be missed, but not forgotten by all who met him, he was such a personable young man. Jim remembers him for his kindness at South Fork Medical and always greeting him as "young man". I knew "Pooh" since he was a small boy. One year ago yesterday (10/31st) he came to my rescue when I had a car wreck and my car was lying on the driver's side in a ditch. Pooh climbed up into the back seat and entertained me and calmed my nerves until my car could be pulled out and I could get out. He helped make the experience more memorable. Thank you, Pooh. Our hearts go out to the family, especially Ruth. Bless you all.

Condolence: I have known Pooh since elementary school. He was definitely "One of a Kind". He always took such good care of us at Southfork medical. My kids loved going in just to see Pooh because he always made such a fuss over them...He was a Wonderful Person and will be missed by the entire community. Our thoughts and Prayers go out to the entire family and Southfork Medical Staff.

Condolence From: Assistant Chief Rodney
Condolence: "A Volunteer Fireman" A fireman is a person who is brave, a person that puts their life on the line for the safety of their community. Someone who asks their children during dinner, how their day went at school, dicussing with them the little mishap's they share with him. Someone who helps with the dinner dishes, while catching up on the day's activities with his wife as she dries the dishes beside him. Someone who is woken up in the middle of the night by a strange beeping noise, to find out it's his pager going off telling him there's a "Fire". Trying not to make a sound, while ever so clumsily feeling around the dark room for his socks, and pants he laid down just hours before, at the same time trying to listen to both his pager and his wife. One ear listening to where and what type of fire he will face and, the other ear hearing his wife's sleepy voice telling him to be careful. Someone who has the courage at 2:30 in the morning to look the devils friend "face to face", wondering if this may be his last fight or night. Someone who is expected to walk away a winner, when all that is left is smoke discoloring the night's sky. Someone who kisses his children's faces when he returns home, afraid that the smell of the smoke on his face may wake them from their quiet night of sweet dreams. And someone not knowing when he may dance with the devil's friend again. May God look over you, and your family and friends. You, and they will be in my thought's and prayers. Rest In Peace my brother. Assistant Chief, Rodney "Hotrod" Humble

Condolence From: Melissa McKee Pulaski County KY
Condolence: Heart of Gold. That is how I would describe "Pooh". I am a previous foster mother from Pulaski County but I had two little boys from McCreary County. They saw a psychologist at South Fork Medical . Of course the first smiling face we always saw when we arrived was from Pooh as he would call us back. My little boys were very "disturbed" and needed special care. Pooh would pick at them and have them laughing and smiling. When visiting with the psychologist my boys would have flashbacks and really become violent, throwing chairs, book shelves, or whatever they could pick up. She would call for Pooh to come in the room with us...he would bring in his firefighting gear and let the boys try it on. Instantly there mood changed! When one of the employees were having a birthday and had cake and ice cream...he would always bring my foster boys a piece. "Pooh" had an influence on many people and did not even know it. I will never forget his acts of kindness. I pray that God will wrap his loving arms around each and every one of you and give you a feeling of peace and comfort. I never stopped praying for Pooh and now I won't stop praying for you! Melissa McKee Previous Foster Mom from Pulaski County KY

Condolence: Many prayers for you my "brother". You leave this place and start a new life in a very special kingdom; Be proud of what you did and even prouder that you are now part of God's hand picked fire department. Rest East "Pooh", Your actions were not in vain. Sharen, This was written by me for a friend that lost both of her parents to help comfort her. I send this now to you and hope that it offers you comfort as well. "Our Angels" Our Angels fly amongst us, and though you may not see. They guide us with decisions, and protect our family. We think about our loved ones, the ones we hold so dear. We keep their memories with us, so they are always near. When your day seems rough, just stop and look around. That Angel that is flying surely will be found. If you listen closely, you will hear them speak. Just lift your head up high and feel them kiss your cheek. Our Angels fly amongst us, they're in a better place. When they see what you've accomplished, it puts a smile on their face. Remember, you need not look any further then your heart to realize that your "Pooh" is never far away.
