Obituary for Arthur "Audie" McQueary

Arthur “Audie” McQueary age 72, of Liberty, Kentucky, husband of, Sue McQueary, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at his home and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be held Saturday August 26, 2023, at 1:00 pm in the McQueary Cemetery in Casey County. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:30 Saturday at the Rocky Top Church of Christ.

He was born June 1, 1951, in Liberty, Kentucky to Arnold Lee McQueary and Ruby Kathleen Lee McQueary. Audie was a master steel guitarist and enjoyed a long music career playing for some of the best entertainers of all time. He was a song writer and as a testimony of his faith wrote the song “The Blood”. He was a master luthier, and built many custom guitars, and was also known for his drawings and sketches. Audie was a man of many talents and never met a stranger.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and brother Gene McQueary.

Survivors include his wife, Sue McQueary, sons, Brian McQueary, and wife Natasha, and Scott, and wife, Rachel, daughters, Jennifer McQueary Jarrett, and husband, Jody, and Nikki Miller Joseph, and husband, Robert, brothers, John McQueary, and wife, Judy, Mark McQueary, and Boone McQueary, sister, Mary Cundiff, and husband, Michael, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
