Obituary for Betty Jean Koger
Betty Jean Koger, age 73 years, 9 months, and 26 days, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 at her home in the Rattlesnake Ridge community and was taken into the care of Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Visitation was Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 6:00pm-9:00pm at the funeral home. Burial was in the Sherd-Dobbs Cemetery on Highway 1363 in Stearns, Kentucky.
She was born April 25, 1946 in Co-operative, Kentucky to Jacob Dobbs and Lexie Gregory Dobbs. Betty Jean was a member of the Cherokee United Baptist Church and had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She loved to plant flowers and work in her garden. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards and checkers, soduko, and watching game shows on television.
Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers, Billy Joe Dobbs, Larry Dobbs, and Darrel Dobbs, and a sister, Zula Mae Dobbs.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Koger of the Rattlesnake Ridge Community, sons, Scott Koger and his wife, Melissa, of Oakland City, Indiana and John Koger and his wife, Kim, of Corpus Christi, Texas, grandson, Christian Slaven, a special nephew, Tristan Tucker, brothers, Jerry Dobbs and his wife, Kathy, Glenn Dobbs, and Roger Dobbs and his wife, Connie, all of Stearns, sisters, Charlene Godsey, Beverly Jones, and her husband, Bud, Margie Coffey and her husband, Jeffery, and a special sister, Polly Young and her husband, Dwaine, all of Stearns.
