Obituary for Brenda Sue Stanchfield (Brown)
Brenda Sue Stanchfield departed this life December 4, 2022, of respiratory complications at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 9, 2022, in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Angel Cemetery.
She was born to the late John Lawrence and Vina Jane (Foster) Brown on July 30, 1940, in Stearns, being the 5th sibling and 4th daughter of a family of 10 children. Her Parents, brothers Billy Joe Brown (Dyllis, TN) and Lawrence Randall Brown (Stearns, KY), Shanda Ann Clark (Whitley City, KY), Burma Joyce Stephens (Whitley City, KY), and Janet Marie Mefford (Huber Heights, OH) preceded her in death. She is survived by sisters Patricia Lou Roaden (Corbin, KY) and Pamela Jane Douglas (Whitley City, KY), and brother Tommy Reed Brown (Stearns, KY).
She was married to the late Reverend Wayne Evert Stanchfield (formerly of Maine) and the union added two surviving sons, Wayne Evert Stanchfield Jr. (Switzerland) and Jeffery Scott Stanchfield (Louisville, KY). Surviving grandchildren includes Joshua Stanchfield, Haley Stanchfield, Hannah Stanchfield, and Samuel Stanchfield.
Brenda Sue worked the biggest portion of her life as a cashier and retired from the Winn-Dixie company. She enjoyed cooking and sharing a meal. Shen was active in church functions until her declining health prevented. She was among the most generous of God’s creation and befriended most anyone. In her last days she was much aided by her sister-in-law Sharon Brown. Brenda Sue will be sorely missed by her remaining children, grandchildren, brother, sisters, nephews, nieces, and acquaintances, but our loss is her gain.
