Obituary

Charles Lewis Bryant, 74 years, 2 months, and 21 days, resident of Stearns, Kentucky went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 1, 2020.

He was born Sunday, July 14, 1946 at the Oneida Clinic in Oneida, Scott County, Tennessee to Oscar L. and Oma S. (nee Canada) Bryant. He was eternally devoted to his high school sweetheart Edna Irene (nee Clark) for 54 years. They began their journey through life together on August 20, 1966. Together they prayed, loved, learned, laughed, and grew. He was the supportive and loving Dad of Gary L. Bryant of Stearns, Melissa K. (Dave) Haerr of Cincinnati, & Jason C. Bryant of Cincinnati. He was the adoring Pawpaw of Janelle Charlee Bryant of Cincinnati. He is also survived by his beloved sister Glenna S. Wright of Cincinnati, numerous loving brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a multitude of caring family & friends.

Graveside funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 in the Pine Knot Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 sisters – Gladys Holbrook, Dorcus Gooch, Judy Ashby, Eliza Opal Bryant, Sarah Louise Bryant, Brenda Georgia Bryant, 2 brothers – George Millard Bryant & James Dillard Bryant, mother-in-law Edna E. Coffey, father-in-law Chester Clark, brothers-in-law Ed Holbrook & Ivan Wright, sisters-in-law Glenna M. Clark & Dorothy J. Lay.

Charles loved cars, tools and woodworking. He was our top mechanic and our home repair man. He always found a solution for every problem. If he didn’t know how to fix something, he didn’t stop until he had taught himself how. He was curious about how things worked and enjoyed the adventure of figuring it out. Those who knew Charles knew he was happiest when he was with his family and making people laugh.

“He was a respected father who taught his children the importance of being devoted & loyal to God & Family. Our Dad was a man with simple old fashion values and modesty.” ~ Gary

“Our talks, that were straight from the heart and heard in the heart, are truly one of my greatest life’s gifts. He always had time for his children and loved us with all of his heart.” ~ Melissa

“I’m going to miss his real talks. He was the coolest Dad ever to me. He was a very loving Dad and truly a great man.” ~ Jason

During a sweet moment with his precious granddaughter, she looked up at him and said, “Pawpaw, you’re my masterpiece.” ~ Janelle.

Yes, sweet little one, he was truly a masterpiece.

Dear family, Lee and I express our heartfelt sorrow at the passing of Charles. It has been several years since we saw him but have many memories of his devotion to South Bend Union Chapel in Cincinnati, OH and his great support of Edna as she led the church and Sunday School. He always had a smile and enjoyed making the rest of us smile too. God will be with you during your sorrow as you continue to look Forward. The future is bright as we all strive to meet our love ones in the Heavenly City.
Love, Nancy Sanregret
