Obituary for Clifton Marion Jeffers

Clifton Marion Jeffers, 85, of Harlan went to his heavenly home on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at the Harlan Health & Rehabilitation Center. Clifton was born May 20, 1935 in Highsplint, KY to the late Starling Jeffers and Sadie Neal Jeffers. He graduated from Evarts High School in 1955. After high school he moved to Detroit, MI where he worked and retired from General Motors. He married the late Helen Pace Jeffers in January 1956. After Clifton retired, he and wife moved back to Kentucky, where he worked a number of years for First Image in London. They later moved back to Harlan where they lived at the time of Helen’s passing in 2011.

In addition to his wife and his parents he is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ada; seven brothers, Cornelius, Curtis, Costa, Clovis, Virgil, Clyde and Charles.

Clifton accepted Christ at the early age of 11. He has always remained faithful to God and the church as long as he lived.

Clifton is survived by one sister, Jean Baird, Pine Knot, KY; and one sister-in-law, Margie Jeffers, Rockport, KY; several nieces and nephews; two specials friends, who were good to take him to church, Teddy Pace and Virgil Sargent; and one very special friend who has been like a son to him, Larry Long and wife, Carolyn of Rosehill, VA.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the Cawood Pentecostal Holiness Church with funeral services starting at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Jerry Collins, Reverend Richard Long and Reverend Terry Baker officiating.

Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery with Mitchell Long, Wesley Long, Teddy Pace, Frank Pace, Berry Baird and Allen Baird will serve as pallbearers.
