Obituary for Darrell Stanley "Gidge" Ramey
Darrell Stanley “Gidge” Ramey, age 59 years, 6 months, and 29 days, passed away Monday, May 2, 2021 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Corder officiating. Burial followed in the Barren Fork Cemetery.
He was Born Tuesday, October 3, 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Charles Ramey and Joyce Blalock Ramey. Gidge enjoyed working on cars, fishing, and being a painting contractor, but spending time with his family and his beloved dog Poob was his greatest joy.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Susan Ramey, two sons, Justin Ramey, and Terry Patton, four sisters, Cheryl F. Ramey, Helen Zink, Vicki Ramey, and Joetta Ramey, two brothers, William Tuff Ramey, and Clarence Morrow, and one grandchild, Victoria Patton.
Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl E. Ramey, and husband, Dominic Strunk, one son, William Patton, brothers, Glen Tindle, and David Ramey, sisters, Anita Ramey, Glanda Ramey, grandchildren, Megan Meeks, Derek Meeks, Tiffany Goins, Michaela Weinel, Marissa Weinel, Madison Weinel, Ethan Strunk, Malachi Strunk, Nate Strunk, Leah Runyon, Morgan Patton, Kelsey Patton, Irie Perkins, and Selena Teegarden, great grandchildren, Aria and Daelin Meeks, Levi Smith, Haylee and Kaylee James, and David Jr.
