Obituary for David Alan Gregory
David Alan Gregory, age 60, husband of Shirley (Clark) Gregory, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, April 21st, 2024 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and was placed into the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
Visitation was held in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024 at the Lower Hickory Grove Baptist Church at 1:00pm.
David was born to Joe Ellis Gregory and Anna Jane (Ragan) Gregory on October 7th, 1963 in Tucson, Arizona. In 1983, David and his parents established Gregory Lumber Company and operated until 2008. In 2010. David and his wife, Shirley, began operating the Discount Surplus Building Supply in Whitley City until 2015. David was a proud member of Lower Hickory Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, everything outdoors, fishing, camping, woodworking, and riding his electric bike.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a niece, and his father-in-law, Elmer “Shorty” Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Clark Gregory, son, Lucas Gregory and girlfriend, Brandi Prater, her son, Kason Prater, of Eubank, daughter, Sarah Creekmore and her husband, Jonathan, of Somerset, brother, Kevin Gregory and his wife, Sandra, of Monticello, sister, Connie Hicks and her husband, Bill, of Monticello, four grandchildren, Logan Creekmore, Sophia Gregory, Andrew Gregory, and Carson Creekmore, mother-in-law, Glenna (Canada) Clark, and many other family members.
