Obituary for David Alan Murphy
David Alan Murphy, age 54, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 at his home in Stearns, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. George Harold Sexton and Bro. William Kilby officiating. Burial was in the Nancy Grave Cemetery.
He was born December 26, 1964 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Herbert Lester Murphy, Sr., and Stella Mae Wilson Murphy. David was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Kinne-Slaven Post of the American Legion. He was employed by Clear Channel Broadcasting as an expert in internet technology and as a radio engineer. David had a passion for computer science and enjoyed fishing. He especially enjoyed family time and was known for pulling pranks and his excellent sense of humor.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include brothers, Steve Murphy and his wife, Janet, of Indianapolis, Bill Murphy and his wife, Teresa, of Summerfield, Florida, Michael Murphy and his wife, Erlinda, of Whitley City, and Herbert Lester Murphy, Jr. of Stearns, sisters, Gloria Brown and her husband, Carl, of Pine Knot, Lora Jane Murphy of Pine Knot, Linda Wisham of Stearns, and Barbara Murphy of Elizabethtown, and special uncles, Ernest Wilson and Ray Wilson.
