Obituary for Diana Joan Cordell
Diana Joan Cordell, age 61 years, 3 months, and 2 days, passed away at her home in Stearns, Kentucky on Thursday, July 9, 2020 and was placed in the care of Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
Funeral Services were held Monday, July 13, 202 at 1:00pm at the Mountain View United Baptist Church on Rattlesnake Ridge Road (Highway 3258) in Stearns, Kentucky with Bro. George Coffey officiating Burial was in the Sherd-Dobbs Cemetery.
Diana was a homemaker and the wife of Jimmie Cordell. She was born on April 7, 1959 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Edward Wright and the late Marlene (Bergman) Walker. Diana was a member at the Mountain View Baptist Church on Rattlesnake Ridge in McCreary County. She enjoyed flowers, the outdoors, and her family time. She was a loving wife and mother, and she always tended well to her family’s needs.
She is preceded in death by: two sons, Jerry Lee Cordell, Jeremy Cordell; her step father, Larry Walker; her step mother, Gathel Wright; two siblings, Faye Wright and Timmy Wright.
Diana is survived by a large host of loving family including: two sons, Jimmie Cordell Jr. and his wife Shelley of Stearns, Venson Cordell and his wife Chaslin of Pine Knot; one daughter in law, Dana Cordell of Whitley City; two brothers, Edward Wright Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky, Andrew Wright of Alexandria, Kentucky; her step brother, Dennis McKay; three sisters, Donna Wenzel and her husband Dave of Harrison, Ohio, Jenny Sammons of Corbin, Kentucky, Cathey Karr and her husband Ronnie of Keavy, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Felicia, Gracie, Bryer, Zack, Gavin, Tammy, Bailey, Owen, Makenna; a special niece, Jessie Helterbrand and her husband Jimmy; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
