Dillard Logan “Milky” Wright, Jr., also fondly called Nooner by family members, age 92, died Saturday, October 18, 2021, at 8:07 am at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held at Stearns First Baptist Church with Pastor Hilton Duncan officiating. Mr. Wright was laid to rest in the Angel Cemetery, alongside his wife, Wilma, of 53 years, in Stearns.
Born in Stearns, Kentucky, on May 23, 1929, he was the son of Dillard Wright and Sylvania Marlar Wright, and one of 13.
Mr. Wright is survived by his wife, Shirley Nunn Wright, whom he married on June 23, 2007, a son, Daniel Wright of Stearns, and two daughters, Vickie Wright of Whitley City, Kentucky and Linda Wright Neal and her husband, Dan, of Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Wright was blessed with four grandchildren: Daniel Wright, Joshua Wright, Lauren Neal, and Henry Neal, and five great grandchildren.
Mr. Wright has one surviving sister; Belle Wright Murphy of Marble Falls, Texas.
Over the course of his life, Mr. Wright, or better known by his family, friends, and acquaintances as Junior, was a truck driver, a coal miner, a heavy equipment operator/foreman and, the occupation dearest to his heart, a farmer. He found joy and purpose in being with his cows, telling family stories from his childhood and above all else, he loved the Lord.
