Earl Crabtree Jr. (Junior), age 84 years, 10 months, and 2 days, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023, and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 8, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Lawson officiating. Burial was in the Crabtree Cemetery.
He was born February 2, 1939 in Harlan County, Kentucky to Earl Crabtree and Hazel Hatfield Crabtree. Earl was a member of the Jellico Creek Church of God and had made his living doing upholstery work. He enjoyed carpentry and auto mechanics.
Earl was a big John Wayne fan and enjoyed watching westerns with his wife and taking care of her.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Earl Crabtree and Hazel Hatfield Crabtree, brothers, Lonnie Crabtree, Ronald Crabtree, and Maynard Crabtree, sisters, Imagene Crabtree, Martha Crabtree, Annalou Crabtree, Mary Jane Crabtree, and Louise Crabtree, and one great grandchild.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Taylor Crabtree, sons, Danny Crabtree and his wife, Cathy, David Crabtree, Everett Crabtree and his wife, Vela, Randy Crabtree, and Conway Crabtree, daughter, Audrey Proffitt and her husband, Ronnie, ex daughter in law, Beverly Crabtree, brother, Dillard Crabtree, twelve grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
