Obituary for Eunice King

L. Eunice King, age 83, passed away on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024 at the Beech Tree Manor in Jellico, TN and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Services were held on Monday, February 26th at 1:00pm in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. The family received friends after 12:00pm until the funeral hour. Burial followed in the Duncan Cemetery in Strunk, KY.

Eunice was born to Haywood and Lela (Daugherty) King on April 23rd, 1940 in Strunk, KY. Eunice graduated from Pontiac Central High in Pontiac, MI then pursued religious degrees at Moody Bible Institute and Bob Jones University, she also Graduated with a MS from University of the Cumberlands. Euince was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, the first thing she would do each morning was spend time in God’s Word. She was also a faithful member of Whitley City First Baptist Church. Eunice was an accredited missionary in Abu Dhabi where she served as the first white missionary as a school teacher for seven years. When she was not on the mission field, Eunice would teach Sunday School, lead youth groups, and do anything she could to serve the local church. Eunice would continue to teach at Pensacola, Florida and at Pine Knot Elementary School.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Elvin King.

She is survived by her sister, Wilma E. Prater of Pine Knot.
