Obituary for Gayle D King

Gayle D. King, age 70 years and 9 days, of Strunk, Kentucky passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at his home.
Funeral services were held Monday February 6th 2017 at 1pm at the Black Oak Baptist Church in Oneida Tennessee with Bro. Kyle Keeton and Bro. Crestin Burke officiating. Burial was in the Angel cemetery.
He was born January 24, 1947 in the Cooperative community of McCreary County, Kentucky to Joel King and Eula Roberts King. Gayle was a member of the Black Oak Baptist Church in Oneida, Tennessee and had been a coal miner before his retirement, having worked for Stearns Coal and Lumber and West Coal. In his spare time he enjoyed making jellies and candies, hunting, fishing, and harvesting walnut kernels. He was also an avid reader.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and two sisters, Janice Kidd and Judy King.
Survivors include his wife, Florence King, whom he married June 8, 1968, sons, Christopher Allen King, and his wife, Teresa of Murray, Kentucky and William Chester King and his wife, Amber, of Somerset, Kentucky, a daughter, Cassandra Michelle King of Strunk, Kentucky, brothers, Noel King and his wife, Ella, of Revelo, Kentucky and Tommy King of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, sister, Donna Meadows of Revelo, Kentucky, and three grandchildren Ethan Futrell, River Elizabeth, and Briar Kathryn.
