Obituary for Gene Decator Hedgepeth
Gene Decator Hedgepeth, age 85 years, 7 months, and 3 days of the Wiborg community passed away Monday, May 8, 2023 at his residence and was placed in the care of Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
In keeping with his wishes, Gene was cremated with no funeral services.
He was born October 5, 1937 in Portsmouth, Virginia to Walter Jason Hedgepeth and Lina Mae Cord Hedgepeth. Gene proudly served in the United States Navy and made his living as a welder. He was of the Baptist faith and loved to travel, fish, but most especially spend time with friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Loretta Mae Hinton, and very dear friends, Ellis and Glenna Bloodworth.
Surviving are his special friends, the Bloodworth kids.
