Obituary for Glenna Lee New
Glenna Lee New, age 79 years, 1 month, and 25 days, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at her residence in Whitley City, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, May 22, 2021 in the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery, with Bro Chris Rules and Bro. Hap Strunk officiating.
She was born March 24, 1942 in Mill Creek, Kentucky to Charles Tinch and Viola Roy Fuson. Glenna worked as a cook for Cumberland Falls Resort and later was a healthcare worker for Adanta. She was a member of the Parker’s Lake Missionary Baptist Church; and enjoyed growing flowers, reading, watching T.V., and family gatherings.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Logan New, whom she married, on January 3rd, 1956, three brothers, Wayne Fuson, Doyle Fuson, and Lanny Fuson, and one sister, Wanda Campbell.
Survivors include, four sons, Ronnie New, Ricky New, Robert New, and his wife, Sonya, and Randy New, and his wife, Sherry, one daughter, Karen Elam, and husband, Mike, one brother, Billy Fuson, five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Glenna is remembered as a very sweetly disposed lady who never met a stranger. She was well read and took pride in providing a loving home for her family. She will be greatly missed.
