Obituary for Gloria C Carter
Gloria C. Carter, age 80, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed from this life Sunday, June 9th at the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 14th, 2019, at 7:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Burial took place Saturday, June 15 at the Elk Spring Cemetery in Monticello, Kentucky.
Gloria was born July 11th, 1938 in Big Sinking, Kentucky to Herbert Corder and Lola Amanda Morrow-Corder. She retired as the Executive Director of the McCreary County Housing Authority and loved to read, cook and spend time with her family. Gloria was a member of The Stearns First Baptist Church for 30 years, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of The Order of The Eastern Star, and was nominated as the Wayne County Basketball Queen.
Preceding her in death were: her parents; and her infant brother Sidney Corder.
She is Survived by: one son, Christopher Allen Carter; two daughters Suzanne Carter-Nutter and her husband David Nutter of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Rebecca and her husband Ralph Blevins of Corbin, Kentucky; three grandchildren, John Blevins and his wife Savannah, Amanda Becker and her partner Daniel Gooden, Shawn Carter; three great grandchildren, Delilah Blevins, Gracie Blevins, and Liam Gooden
