Obituary for Irene Strunk (Maxwell)
Irene Doris Strunk, of the Beulah Heights Community, age 77 years, 11 months and nine days, went to be with the Lord, on Friday April 17, 2020 from the Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center, in Somerset, Ky.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 19, 2020 at 2:00pm at the Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church. Burial Was in the Flat Rock Cemetery.
Irene was born near the Freedom Community, of McCreary County, Kentucky, on May 8, 1942 to Marvin Maxwell and Lora (Jones) Mawell.
She and her husband Ed Strunk, were married on July 22, 1961 and began their life together. They were blessed with one son, James Eddie Strunk. In addition to being a homemaker Irene also worked as a quality control inspector for McCreary Manufacturing, better known as the shirt factory in Stearns. A faithful member of the Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church, Irene also enjoyed crocheting, growing flowers, nature walks but especially family time.

Eddie Strunk and his wife Amelia, of Strunk, Ky. a brother Lenville Maxwell, and his wife Brenda, of Whitley City, two sisters, Jackie Strunk, and her husband Larry, of Revelo, Ky, and Donna Maxwell, of Whitley City, and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, Boyce Dean, Leonard, Jim, Bill and Harold Maxwell, and one sister Jennifer Maxwell.
