James Lowell “Buddy” Jones, age 82 years, 2 months and 19 days, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Tenova Health Care in Knoxville, Tennessee and was placed in the care of Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 18, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Anderson and Bro. James Upchurch officiating. Burial was in the McCreary Memorial Gardens.

He was born Sunday, September 27, 1938, in Whitley City, Kentucky to Henry Jones and Linda (Foster)Jones. After graduating high school, Buddy served in the US Navy from 1955 until 1959. He had worked as a dorm supervisor for Pine Knot Job Corps before his retirement. Buddy was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, yard work and watching TV.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson James Tucker, and three brothers, Ken Jones, Foster Jones and Wiley Jones. Survivors include his daughter, Regina Weber, and husband, Chris, grandchildren, Joshua and Haley, and four sisters, Eula Duncan, Peggy Lair, Barbara Sanders and Shirley McCloskey.

Buddy left a lifetime of memories to enjoy and find comfort in.
