Obituary for JoAnn Watson (Gibson)
JoAnn (Gibson) Watson, age 75 years, 11 months, and 8 days, of Stearns, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the Hickman-Stunk Funeral Home with Bro. Hilton Duncan officiating. Interment followed the services and was in the Corder Cemetery.
JoAnn was born in Smithtown, Kentucky on Thursday, October 19, 1944 to the late Joe Gibson and the late Edna (Jones) Gibson. JoAnn was a member of the Pleasant Rock Church in Smithtown, Kentucky. She loved fishing, puzzlebooks, and most of all, spending time with her beloved family.
She is preceded in death by: her first husband, James Vaughn; her second husband, Arnold Watson; one son, Brian Gibson (wife Thelma); four brothers, Rob Gibson (wife Stella), Porter Gibson (wife Edna), Virgil Gibson (wife Betty), Bill Gibson (wife Tiny); brother in law, Frank Noe; two grandchildren, Megan Gibson, and James Earnie Logan Vaughn.
JoAnn is survived by a large host of loving family, including; her partner, Donald Vanover of Stearns; two sons, Joe Vaughn (wife Beverly) of Stearns, Jimmy Vaughn (partner Becky Creekmore) of Whitley City, Ernie Vaughn (wife Amanda) of Parker’s Lake; A special son, Rodney Goins of Parkers Lake; one sister, Linda Noe of Sydney, Ohio; four grandchildren, Joe Vaughn Jr., Brandon Watters, William Vaughn, James Vaughn; and 15 great grandchildren.
The passing of JoAnn is mourned by all who knew and loved her, but we know she leaves many wonderful memories behind, and we hope these will be of comfort to you in your time of sorrow.
