Obituary for John Henry Duvall Jr.

Rev. John H. Duvall, Jr., age 62 years, 7 months, and 6 days, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 22, 2021 from the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 25, 2021 in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home, with Bro. Kenneth Thompson officiating. Burial followed in the Clearview Cemetery.

He was born July 16, 1958, in Somerset Kentucky to Rev. John H. Duvall, Sr. and Hettie Ilene Corder Duvall. Upon graduating from high school in 1976, John Jr. served his country in the United States Air Force as a law enforcement officer, and later a deputy sheriff. He also worked as a welder and over the road truck driver. At the time of his death John was a purchasing agent with Great Dane. He was a member of the Day Ridge United Baptist Church and was ordained as a Baptist minister in 1997, and had pastored both the Day Ridge United Baptist Church and the Silverville United Baptist Church. He also was a very busy evangelist, holding countless revivals. John enjoyed fishing, shooting, and spending time with his family, but church was his passion. He loved the Lord and loved to sing and proclaim the gospel.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Billie Bauer Duvall, of Stearns, Kentucky, his son, John Wesley Duvall, and wife, Tiffany, of Pine Knot, and granddaughters, Katelyn and Emily Duvall.
