Obituary for John E. Lawson
John Lawson, age 83 years, 7 months, and 5 days, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the Georgetown Community Hospital in Georgetown, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman Strunk Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home, with Bro. Braxton King officiating.
He was born Friday, April 30, 1937 in McCreary County, Kentucky to Frank Lawson and Mima Hinkle Lawson. He was a member of the Taylor Ridge Baptist Church. John was a coal miner for Blue Diamond and worked 30 years at Michigan Plating and Stamping. He enjoyed fishing, working, and staying busy. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one son, Johnny Lawson, one daughter, Linda Clay Lawson, three brothers, Harold Lawson, James Lawson, and George Lawson, and one sister Juanita Lawson.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Joyce Lawson, one son, Dan Lawson and wife, Pam, two daughters, Ella Phillips and husband, Victor, and Lisa Jones and husband, Don, four grandchildren, Alisha McGee and husband, Greg, Lesley King and husband, Cody, Zack Jones and wife, Megan, Leanze Kuhnapfel and husband, Justin, and four great grandchildren, Priscilla McGee, Maddox McGee, Zane Jones, and Luka Kuhnapfel.
