Joseph J. Phillips, age 53 years, and 19 days, of Pine Knot, husband of Rebecca Phillips, passed away Tuesday May 10, 2022, at his home in Pine Knot, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 14, 2022, in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Burial
followed in the Corder Cemetery.

He was born April 21, 1969, in Oneida, Tennessee, to David Phillips and Alice Jones Phillips. Joseph loved woodworking and built their house, including the cabinets and dining room table. He built each child a rocking chair out of cedar. He also enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. He was an excellent cook and was known to bring his Coleman stove out in the yard and cook for the whole family.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Phillips, children, Ridge Phillips, (Tiffany), Joseph Phillips, Abigail Phillips, Chellie Phillips, (Andrew), Colby Phillips, Elain Phillips, (Gavon Gregory), and Joshua Bryant, (Natasha), sisters, Patsy New, Kathleen Gregory, (Keeland), and Tammy Bryant, (Tim), brothers-in-law, Tommy Bryant, and Davis Bryant, grandchildren, Olivia Vanover, Aleah Phillips, and Chrislynn Phillips, great grandchildren, Cheyann Bledsoe, and Jazmyne Bryant, special nephews, Eric King, Travis Bryant and Bub Bryant, special nieces, Sasha Bryant, Janie Bryant, Vanessa Fuller, and Nicole Golf, and numerous other family members.
