Obituary for Lee Whitehead

Litton “Lee” Whitehead, age 79, husband of Vallery Whitehead of Stearns, passed away Thursday, March 14th, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and was placed into the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 17th, 2024 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. The family received friends after 11:00am until the funeral hour. Burial followed in the Whitehead (Cooper) Cemetery.

Lee was born to Robert and Dessie (Clark) Whitehead on April 6th,1944 in White Oak Junction, Kentucky. Lee loved doing anything outdoors. He would often be found in nature and spending time with his grandchildren. Lee enjoyed ginseng hunting and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Lee worked, and was well known, as an auto mechanic.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dessie Whitehead, his son, Allen Whitehead, his brothers, Tilmon Whitehead and Larry Whitehead, and his sisters, Martha Taylor, Linda Whitehead, and Madelene Whitehead, two sisters-in-law, Della Whitehead, and Becky Whitehead.

He is survived by his wife, Vallery Whitehead of Stearns, his sons, Kenny Whitehead and his wife Shonna of Stearns, Tim Whitehead and his wife Stacie, of Stearns, his brothers, Leamon Whitehead and his wife Patty, of Minerva, OH, Glen Whitehead and his wife Jean of Madison, IN, Gale Whitehead and his wife Wanda of Somerset, Warren Whitehead and his wife Kathy of Hotsprings, AK, and James Whitehead of Pine Knot, his sisters, Margie Whitehead of Whitley City, Kimberley Whitehead of Oneida, TN, and Brenda Meece and her husband Jim of Muncie, IN, his grandchildren, Jessica Perry, Jeremy Whitehead, Brittany Richardson, Katelynn Goins, Michael Whitehead, TJ Whitehead, Justus Whitehead, Jessica Stephens, Montana Musgrove, Leigha Sumner, Tyler Coffey and Heaven West, and nineteen great-grandchildren that were his pride and joy.
