Obituary for Lola Jones
Lola Worley Jones, age 81 years, 10 months, and 2 days, of the Mountain View community went home to be with the Lord on January 27, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Mountain View Baptist Church with Bro. Stuart Jones and Bro. Steve Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Ray Jones Cemetery at Mountain View.
She was born March 25, 1939 in Stearns to the late George W. Worley and Frona C. Coffey Worley. Lola was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church and attended Rock Springs Baptist Church. She retired from the McCreary County Board of Education after serving many years as a bus driver. Lola enjoyed gardening and sewing. She loved cooking for everybody and especially her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, Homer Worley, and sister, Lona Gibson, and Carrie Phillips.
Survivors include her husband, Herstle M. Jones whom she married on August 29, 1963 four children, Vicky (Tyra) Weber, Patricia (Kenneth) Bray, Scotty (Valarie) Jones, and Herschel Jones, grandchildren, Leslie, Whitney, Megan, Rusty, Corey, Monica, Katherine, Jay, Chelsey, Conley, and Matthew, great grandchildren, Bryson, Blake, Lynnzee, Gracie, Andrew, and KC, brothers, Ronzo (Hazel) Worley, and Arnold (Shirley) Worley, sisters, Thelma (Kenneth) Jones, Evelyn Gibson, and Elsie (Bobby) Crisp, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
