Obituary for Marcia Lee Holian
Marcia Lee Wright Holian, 82, of Alexandria, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood, KY, after a short illness.
Marcia was born February 5, 1941, in Stearns, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Clyde Adam and Susie Shepherd Wright. She was preceded in death by her sister Vivian Elois Hehemann of Cincinnati, Ohio. Marcia is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jim Holian, brother Cecil (Sue) Wright, sister Iva Dean Boyatt, Lexington, Kentucky, and brother-in-law Bob Hehemann, Cincinnati.
Other survivors include nieces Kristi (Dino) Lancianese, Amy Wright and Carol Anne Wright, Lexington, Kentucky, and nephews Scott Perkins, Trenton, Ohio, and Rick (Lee) Boyatt, Lexington, one great niece and several great nephews.
In her early years, Marcia made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, and her faith in God guided her daily, especially through the burdensome times of life.
After graduation from Stearns High School, Marcia joined Western and Southern in Cincinnati, Ohio, and worked there as a systems analyst until her retirement.
During her lifetime, Marcia enjoyed reading, traveling and skeet shooting as well as painting beautiful pictures of birds, and sculpting flowers and other small items from clay. Her little dog Sammy brought special joy to her.
Services will be private.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to her doctors and especially the nurses and doctors in the SICU at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
