Margaret Francis Gordon Nutter, age 90 years, 5 months, and 24 days, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at her home in Pine Knot, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
She was born February 4, 1931, in Charleston, South Carolina to James Henderson Gordon and Jessica Virginia Salvo Gordon. Margaret was a member of the Stearns First Baptist Church and had been a probation officer with the Salvation Army in Tampa, Florida before her retirement. After retirement, she kept very busy and worked at the nursing home in Pine Knot, spending her days counseling residents, and partnered with the McCreary County School District and the McCreary County Public Library to read books to children at the local elementary schools.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, William A. Nutter, brother, James H. Gordon and twin brothers, Frank V. Gordon and Victor C. Gordon.
Survivors include sons, Michael David “Dave” Nutter and his wife, Suzanne, of Pine Knot, who lovingly cared for her for the last years of her life, and William A. Nutter, Jr. of Bradenton, Florida, a sister, Jacqueline Horn of Michigan, grandchildren, William Peters, Christina Nutter, Jackie Murphy, and Amanda Becker, and great grandchildren, Nathaniel Peters, Billy Rybenski, Jimmy Murphy, Dylan Nutter, Rosaline Ramistella, Lillian Ramistella, Michaell Liam Goodin, and Jolene Dawn Goodin.
