Michael Wayne Gibson, age 66 years, 3 months, and 8 days, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, Tennessee and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Braxton King officiating. Burial followed in the Corder Cemetery.
He was born February 14, 1955 in Sidney, Ohio to Porter Gibson and Dorothy Upchurch Toler. Michael was an owner operator truck driver and a member of Morning Star Cowboy Church in Umatilla, Florida. He was a firefighter in Apopka, Florida and various places for over 20 years. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, landscaping, guns, and Pepsi, which he called octane. But his greatest joys in life were his family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, Michael Jr., two brothers, Darrell and Charles Gibson, and one grandchild.
Survivors include his wife, Linda “Linn” Gibson, sons, Christopher Gibson, Jerry Broxton, and Joseph Richardson, daughters, Michelle Gibson, Kristy Gibson, Jeannie Gibson, Amy Gibson, twins Nicki Tracy, and Renee Riggins, and Teresa Minnich, sisters, Patricia Cox, and Shelia Maxwell, 45 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
