Obituary for Opal Stewart
Opal Stewart, age 74 years, 2 months, and 29 days, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 in Whitley City, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 22, 2019 at 6:00 pm, at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Delmus Watson, and Bro. David Clark officiating. Burial was in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery.
She was born August 21, 1945 in the Rattlesnake Ridge Community to Clyde Coffey and Dora (Dobbs) Coffey. Opal was retired from Quest, where she worked in patient care, she had also been employed by Dollar General Corporation. She was a member of the Cherokee United Baptist Church. Opal enjoyed cooking for friends and family, gardening, and reading. She especially enjoyed spending time with family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, Harold Coffey, sisters, Helen Louise Panko ,Kathryn Cossman, and Aileen Coffey, a grandson, Josh Jones, and brothers-in-law, Stanley Cossman and William Panko.
Survivors include a son, John Stewart, of Stearns, Kentucky, a daughter, April Lyons and her husband, Brian, of Marshes Siding, Kentucky, a brother, Norman Coffey, of Stearns, Kentucky, along with three grandchildren, James Stewart, Waylon Lyons, and Kennedy Lyons.
