Obituary for Phyllis Suzann Ferrara (Coffey)

Phyllis Suzann Coffey (Ferrara) passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 21, 2024. She was born on May 4, 1944 to Dudley and Gertie Coffey in White Oak Junction, KY.

Phyllis graduated from McCreary Central High School, Midway College, and UK with a BA Degree. She became a film and television producer in Hollywood, California.

She was happily married to Peter Ferrara for 42 years. A deeply spiritual person, she learned how to eliminate hate, envy, and anger from her life. Her “motto” was “I can’t afford the luxury of a single negative thought” and she lived her life that way.

Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her brothers Hoyt, Kenneth, William (“Doc”), and Benny, and by her sister Jewelene.

She is survived by her brother Larry and nieces Carol Jones and Aimee Strunk, along with her husband Peter.
In lieu of flowers, she would want folks to do an anonymous act of kindness for someone in need of help. Her last words were “Life is good.”

Following her wishes, cremation was chosen, there will be no services.

Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Phyllis Suzann Coffey (Ferrara).

The obituary is provided by the family.
