Obituary for Ralph Murphy
Ralph Murphy, age 77, of Revelo, Kentucky passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019 at this residence.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Goodin, Bro. Eddie Miller, and Bro. Robert Hatfield officiating. Burial was in the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery.
He was born January 4, 1942 in McCreary County to Claude Murphy and Dora Strunk Murphy. Ralph was a member of the Beech Grove United Baptist Church. He ran a grocery store for over 25 years and later worked selling furniture and hardware. Ralph was very active in the community working as a custodian for the McCreary County School System and representing District 3 as McCreary County Magistrate for seventeen years. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching UK sports, working in the yard, and playing checkers.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers Clyde Murphy, Jerry Murphy, Jimmie Murphy, Glen Murphy, and Clell Murphy, a sister, Penny Murphy, and a grandson, Kenneth Conatser.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Murphy, a son, Chris Murphy and his wife, Billie, of Russell Springs, Kentucky, a daughter, Sherry Conatser and her husband, Ken, of Mount Sterling, a brother, Ronnie Murphy and his wife, Karen, of Shepherdsville, grandchildren, Taylor, Ashley, and Bryson, and three great grandchildren.
