Obituary for Rev. David Allen Troxell

Rev. David Allen Troxell, age 66 years, and 17 days, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Hill Top Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Tapley, Bro. Shane Slavey, and Bro. Larry Ball officiating. Burial followed in the Angel Cemetery.

He was born February 13, 1956, in Hill Top Community, to Clyde Troxell and Juanita (Benson) Troxell. David was a United States Air Force Veteran and retired coal miner. He served as pastor at Hill Top Missionary Baptist Church for over 30 years. During this time, the church experienced tremendous growth. He enjoyed camping and grilling at Rock Creek; and being outdoors especially in the fall. He will always be remembered for his tireless soul winning and sharing Christ. His greatest passion in life was leading the lost to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers, Larry “Jig” Troxell, Dorman Troxell, and Ronald Troxell, and sisters, Bonnie Dean Troxell, and Brenda Jones.

Survivors include son, Dr. Christopher Troxell, and wife, Dr. Candice Goh Troxell, daughter, Ann Richmond, and husband, Brock, brothers, Dennis Troxell, and Betty, Jeff Troxell, and wife, Connie, Bruce Troxell, and wife, Gloria, and Eddie Troxell, sister, Kathy Strunk, grandchildren, Riley Richmond, Caroline Richmond, Cooper Troxell, and Charlee Troxell, special friends, Janice Privett and Brandon New, and the family is grateful for his caregivers, his nieces Tammy Lyons, Debbie Maki, and his sister, Kathy Strunk.
