Obituary for Rhoda Williams (Creekmore)

Rhoda Williams, age 93 years, 9 months, and 13 days, passed away Friday, May 28, 2021 at her home in Strunk, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 31, 2021 at the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God with Bro. Dennis Bryant and Bro. Harold Baird officiating. Burial followed in the Jellico Creek Cemetery.

She was born August 15, 1927 in Rose Bud, Kentucky to Lewis Creekmore and Nevada Webb Creekmore. Rhoda operated a boarding house, worked as a clerk, worked for Human Resources, and in a general store. She attended the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God. She enjoyed raising flowers and vegetables, crocheting, and family gatherings. In her 80’s she crocheted eight sleeping mats for homeless people from plastic bags, and in her 90’s she crocheted over one hundred potholders.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Carl Williams, a son, Jim Williams, two brothers, W.M. Creekmore, and Garry Creekmore, two infant brothers, R.D., and C.B., and two sisters, Juanita Shelly, and Betty Rose Trammell.

Survivors include her daughter in-law, Doris June Williams, a brother, Jack Creekmore, and wife, Karen, two sisters, Anna Ruth Baird, and husband, Harold, and Garcia Moore, two grandchildren, Chris Williams, and Richard Williams, a granddaughter in-law, Angie Williams, and three great grandchildren, Cole Williams, Rileigh Williams, and Drew Williams.
