Ronald Dewayne Ball, age 83 years, 8 months, and 22 days, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2022, at Signature Health Care in Pine Knot, Kentucky, and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 2, 2022, in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Ball Shelley and Rev. Braxton King officiating.

He was born May 7, 1938, in Stearns Kentucky to James A. Ball and Rachel Stephens Ball. Ronald attended Meadows Grove Baptist Church. He was a renowned bluegrass musician, avid UK basketball fan, and was a foreman at the tent factory for many years. Ronald enjoyed camping with his boys and having coffee with friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, Debbie Stigal Ball, daughter, Rachel Ball, 9 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Survivors include sons, Ronnie Ball Shelley, (Debbie), Kenny Ball, and William Wesley Ball, (Tanya Daugherty), special daughter, Teresa Sexton, grandchildren, Shane Ball, Devin Dewayne Ball, Billy Shelley, Jayne Lynn Shelley, and Halee Shelley, great grandchildren, Liam Spence, and Sunny Coates, nephews, David Shelley, and wife, Brenda, and J.W. Barnett, and niece Barbara Griffin.
