Ruth Sexton, age 86, departed this life on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at the Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. Ruth was born on May 11, 1935, to the late Clifton Goad and Ada Shoemaker Goad.

In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her infant daughter Kathy Sexton; one brother Jack Goad; one sister Ona Lea Goad-Phillips; and sister-in-law Virginia Russ Goad.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years George Harold Sexton; one daughter Peggy Jo Sexton and husband Robert; sons David Sexton and wife Gale, Shane Sexton and wife DeAnna, and Brandon Sexton and wife Jessica; grandchildren Jeremy Sexton and wife Martha, Erin Sexton-Flynn and husband John, Kelly Wade Sexton, Christian Sexton, Troy Thompson, Victoria Yaden, Madison Sexton, Philip Sexton and wife Tori; great grandchildren Brayden Sexton, Jacob Sexton, Kayla Sexton, Elijah Sexton, Keileigh Sexton, Sadie Sexton, Aaron Sexton, and Amelia Sexton; brothers Keifer Goad and Ed Goad and wife Betty; one sister Charlotte Goad-Phillips and husband Kermit; and many other special family members and friends.

A graveside service was held at 10 A.M. Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the Sexton Cemetery in the Paint Rock Community. .
