Obituary for Wilda B. Hazlett

Wilda B. Hazlett age 88 years, 6 months, and 14 days, of Revelo, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 4, 2022, at Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home, in Whitley City, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 7, 2022, in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. An Eastern Star service was held immediately before Christian funeral services.

She was born December 20, 1933, in Revelo, Kentucky to James Willard Baker and Clara Strunk Baker. Wilda was a retired Registered Nurse and was the first graduate of the Somerset Community College Nursing Program. She was President of the 1952 Senior Class at McCreary County High School, a member of Laurel Heights Order of Eastern Star, appointed to the McCreary County Board of Health numerous times, and received recognition for excellence from the Kentucky State Board of Nursing in 1986. Wilda enjoyed traveling, baking, cooking, crocheting, reading, and spending time with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers, William “Jocko” Baker and wife Brenda Stanley Baker, Teddy A. Baker, James Russell Baker and wife Dr. Sue Helton Baker, and Jesse Alan Baker and son Russell Baker.

Survivors include; one son, Randy Hazlett, of Revelo, Kentucky, two brothers, Mike Baker, of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Ralph (Marcia) Baker, of Henderson, Kentucky, one sister Alfreida (Mike) Daulton, of Nancy, Kentucky, one grandson, Tyler Hazlett, one granddaughter, Samantha (Eric) Stout, and three great grandsons, Riley and Bentley Arrington, and Tobias Stout and a host of host of family and friends.
