Obituary for Wilma Imogene Maxwell Williams (Hummell)

Wilma Maxwell (Williams) Age 75

The beautiful Mother of Angela Maxwell Wolfe, Patsy Maxwell Guenthner and Leonard Ray Maxwell II , entered into her eternal home on Monday March 11, 2024, at 11:59 am.

Wilma was born in Cincinnati Ohio on June 11th, 1948, to the late George and Gladys Hummel. On July 7th, 1967, Wilma married the late Lester Lee Maxwell. They moved to Sidney Ohio in the early 1970’s and settled in Sidney, OH, where they both worked for the Stolle Corporation. Wilma retired from the Stolle Corporation (aka) American Trim in 2010, after 33 years of service.

Wilma was the grandmother to, Brad, Bryon, Kyle, Heather, Elizabeth, Jessica, Ashleigh, Jennifer, Dalton and great-grandmother to Brad Jr, Elizjah, Khloe, Cooper, Lila, Willow, Zayne, Xavier, Raelynne, Michael, Jennifer, Gracie, Nathan, Hudson, River, and Kennedy, and Great-Great Grandmother to Theo and Charleigh.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lester, sister Ruby, grand-child Elizabeth, and great-grand baby Jennifer. Survivors include her three children. Angela (Tim) Wolfe of Anna OH, Patsy (Mark) Guenthner of Piqua, OH and Leonard Ray (Jackie) Maxwell of Tampa, Fl, sisters Chris Philpot of North Carolina, Carol Brimm of Kentucky, sister-in-law Carolyn Strunk, brother-in-law David Maxwell both of Whitley City, KY, and many nephews and nieces, plus friends of the Alcoa, Stolle Corporation family and her retirement community family in Zephyrhills Florida.

Wilma was living her best life in Zephyrhills Florida for the past 10 years, where she enjoyed living in her little retirement community, playing cards, shuffleboard, swimming, and Bingo. Wilma loved spending time with her son and daughter-in-law in Florida and extended family, then she loved coming back to Ohio in the summers to visit her daughters and grand babies. Before retiring Wilma loved to bowl and bowled in several team leagues throughout the years for the Stolle Corporation, where she won several awards. She also loved to fish but would never eat fish. 😊 Wilma also loved to travel for bowling tournaments, bingo, and sightseeing. She took many cruises over the years, trips to Vegas along with Casio bus trips.

Wilma loved Jesus and her sister Ruby very much and knew someday she would see them in heaven. When Wilma lived in Ohio, she was a member of the Calvary Chapel Baptist church in Minster Oh, and over the years she would attend church with her daughters.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 22nd at 1 pm, at Hickman Strunk Funeral Home. ,Burial was in Angel Cemetery .
