Adell Whitehead, age 83 years, 2 months, and 22 days,of Whitley City, Kentucky passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 in Somerset, Kentucky. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Lenville Maxwell officiating. Burial was in the Corder Cemetery. She was born October 10, 1933 in the Ritner community of McCreary County to Ralph Jones and Rhoda Maxwell Jones. Adell was a member of the Day Ridge United Baptist Church. In addition to being a homemaker, she enjoyed camping, quilting, reading, and visiting with friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Leamon Whitehead, brothers, Orvil Jones and George Jones, and sisters, Randy Corder and Nora Parks. Survivors include her children, Bobby Whitehead and his wife Gloria, of Revelo, Kentucky, Jimmy Whitehead and his wife, Laura, Ronnie Whitehead, Ruby Whitehead Walters, Rhoda Whitehead, and Linda Whitehead Thompson, all of Whitley City, Kentucky, a brother, Earl Jones of Whitley City, Kentucky, twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
