Nancy Alene Perry, Alene, as she was known to her family and countless friends, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday May 6, 2017 at the McCreary Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 6:00pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Rev. Landon Sexton, Bro. Scott Corder and Bro. Thomas Branscum officiating. Burial was in Boyatt Cemetery. She was born on November 11, 1928 in Smithtown, Kentucky to H.C. Columbus Perry and Hattie King Perry. Alene along with her sister, Maxine, worked as a cook for the McCreary County School System for 57 years and was well loved and respected by many students she fed every day. Alene was a Christian and of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed crocheting , embroidery, cooking and singing with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Edward and a sister, Anna Gertrude Helton. Survivors include her sister, Tressie Maxine Perry, Alvilda Burke, who she raised from childhood and considered a daughter, grandchildren, Sherry Branscum, and William C. Stephens, great grandchildren, Sheena Keeton, Breanna Branscum and William Branscum, along with countless friends and other family members. Alene will be remembered for her selfless sprit and total devotion and support of her family and most of all for her steadfast faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May her memory and testimony comfort you now and always.
