Billy Van Stephens age 78 years, 6 months, and 26 days, of Whitley City, Kentucky passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at his home. Funeral services were held Monday, November 16, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Hap Strunk and Bro. Carl Brock officiating. Burial followed in the Taylor Ridge Cemetery. He was born April 18, 1937 in Pine Knot, Kentucky, to Leslie Stephens and Nellie (Moore) Stephens. Bill was a Deacon at the Marshes Siding Church of God and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a devoted man to his family and his church. In past time, Bill worked as an Assistant Funeral Director for over 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, wood work, and building cabinets. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Isabell Stephens; 4 brothers, and a sister, Willa Phipps. Survivors include his son, Billy Stephens and wife, Tina, of Knoxville, Tennessee; daughters, Sandra Lett and husband, Richard, of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Linda Lipps and husband, Sammy, of London, Kentucky; brothers, Kelly Stephens and wife, Sue, of West Virginia, and Bruce Stephens of Marshes Siding; sisters, Laura Current of Frankfort, Kentucky, Beth of Pennsylvania, and Nellie; and grandchildren, Matthew Jones and wife, Cynthia, Larissa Gilreath, Weston Gilreath, and Taylor Stephens. Hickman-Stunk Funeral Home served the family of Mr. Bill Stephens.
