Brenda Kay Coffey, the daughter of Homer and Ada Coffey, was born on February 24, 1955 in Slavens, KY and reunited with her heavenly family on April 12, 2025. Brenda was the connecting link and somewhat the keeper of the flock for all her siblings. Brenda was the 6th child of 10 children and as the middle child, Brenda liked to take care of all her brothers and sisters, younger and older. Brenda is proceeded in death by her parents and brother Larry (Donna) Coffey and sisters Lenna (Dale) Vaughn and Cindy (Chuck) Strunk. Brenda is survived by siblings Joyce (Trusdale) Coffey, George (Evelyn) Coffey, Don (Sue) Coffey, Gary (Mona) Coffey, Anita (Duffy) Sutton, and Mike Coffey.

Family was so important to Brenda. Although she never gave birth to children, she had many children through her nieces and nephews. She loved them as her own and was never so proud as she was when they came to be by her side in her final hours. In her final hours, she whispered softly, "They are all here aren't they. I helped to raise them. Those are my kids too." It was definitely a proud moment for her to have them there.

Although Brenda's health prevented her from getting to do certain things, she often lived vicariously through the lives of those that she loved. She always wanted full details of what you were doing and became a part of it just by hearing about it. Your friends instantly became her friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Coffey and Bro. George Coffey officiating. Burial was in the Angel Cemetery.
