Brenda Sue Young, age 72 years, 10 months and 16 days of Fairland, Indiana formerly of Stearns passed away Monday July 6, 2026, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Silerville Cemetery.

She was born August 21, 1953, in Oneida, Tennessee to the late Dakota Waters and Gloria Mae Coil Waters. She found her greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life. Brenda loved spending time outdoors, whether she was fishing, camping, or enjoying a family cookout. She especially treasured family dinners and the time she shared with those she loved most. Above all, Brenda cherished her grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness and pride.

Preceding her in death were her parents and brother Ronnie Waters.

Survivors include daughter, Sharon Kreuzman, and husband, Mark, sisters, Debbie Gilreath, and husband, Kenny, Ella Stephens, Joan Feltner, and husband Mike, Sandra Cundiff, and Cheryl Blair and husband, Mikey, and grandchildren, Marcus, Maria and Makaylee.
