Bruce Anderson, age 59, of Pine Knot, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington Kentucky and was placed into the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 26th at 11:00am in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Pine Knot Cemetery. Visitation was held on Thursday, July 25th from 6:00pm until 9:00pm in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Bruce was born on November 15th, 1964 to Ernest E. Anderson and Lillie (Rhew) Anderson in Chicago, Illinois. Bruce grew up loving sports. He would watch many of his local teams, including the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs, and other teams, such as the San Fransico 49ers and the Kentucky Wildcats. The Cubs always held a special spot for him. Bruce would even work around Wrigley Stadium so he could get opportunities to watch the Cubs play. Bruce was known to be someone who could always have a good time, always being a kid at heart. He enjoyed amusement parks, roller coasters and demolition derbies. He was also a very good friend and brother, he was a member of the Sons of American Legion, where he would volunteer and serve to help those around him, and attended East Stearns Church of God, and Freewill Baptist Church. Bruce worked and retired as a forklift operator from Armstrong Flooring, and continued working after retirement at Kroger. Above all, Bruce loved his family and spending time with them.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sheila Behrenfeld.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Tina Strunk, of Pine Knot, his brothers, Charles Anderson, and his wife Carol, of Parish, Alabama, David Anderson, and his wife Lisa, of Palatine, Illinois, Greg Anderson, and his wife Angela, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Edwin Anderson, of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, his sisters, Brenda Pugh, of Pine Knot, Patti Pugh, and her husband JR, of Warrior, Alabama, Katherine Saunders, and her husband Luke, of Lexington, Kentucky, and Karen Foster, and her husband Jason, of Stearns, many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, to who he was the number one uncle, and three grandchildren of his girlfriend Tina, Landon Strunk, Arayah Davis, and Madison Strunk.
