Grover Cline Abbott, age 70 years, and 4 days, of Stearns, Kentucky passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 in Stearns, Kentucky. Funeral services were held Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Estil Jones and Rev. Stephen Jones officiating. Mike Heth, Keith Heth, Joe Anderson, Brett Miller, Justin Anderson, and James Jones served as pallbearers. Burial was in the Rock Springs Cemetery. He was born February 12, 1947 in Smithtown, Kentucky to George and Mertie Jones Abbott. Cline at one time worked in a factory in Detroit, and as an auto body mechanic and what he loved most was playing music with family and friends. He was a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents, two infant brothers, Leon and Jerry Lynn Abbott, one sister, Fay Ashbrook, brother in law Charles Nelson Simmons and a very special cousin, Ina Lee Jones. Survivors include a son, Victor Abbott and his wife Paula of Monticello, Kentucky, two brothers, Glenn Arnold Abbott and his wife Shane, of Coopersville, Kentucky, David Reed Abbott and his wife Thelma, of Strunk, Kentucky. three sisters, Wanda Abbott Heth and her husband Jim of Lexington, Kentucky, Jean Simmons of Little River, South Carolina, Janie Miller and her husband Gary, of Shelbyville, Kentucky, and brother in law Henry Ashbrook of Stearns, Kentucky.
