Conley Blevins age 83 years, 8 months and 24 days of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Hospice of the Bluegrass in Hazard, Kentucky. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10:00am in the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Cooper and Bro. John Blevins officiating. Pallbearers were, Chris Carter, Todd Cooper, Tim Cooper, John Blevins, Dave Nutter, Daniel Wightman, David Perry, R.D. Bryant, Robert Carter and Greg Vanover. Burial followed in the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery. He was born November 1, 1932 in Revelo, Kentucky to Maynard and Rosetta (Smith) Blevins. Conley was a member of the First Baptist Church Whitley City. He was a retired School Teacher for the McCreary County School District, where he taught at the Smithtown Elementary and Whitley City Middle School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at his cabin, playing his fiddle, and travelling. Conley had also worked at Blue Heron as a Ranger. He will be remembered as a honest and caring man and a strong Christian. He is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lacie Blevins and Amon Blevins; and sisters, Parazida Jones and Irene Blevins. Survivors include his wife, Jean (Cooper) Blevins of Whitley City, Kentucky; son, Ralph Blevins and wife, Rebecca of Pine Knot, Kentucky; grandson John Tyler Blevins and wife, Savannah; and great grandchildren, Delilah and Gracie. Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home served the family of Mr. Conley Blevins.
