Dearld "Buckeye" Helbert, age 80 years, 1 month, and 30 days, father of Leslie Eldridge and Shane Helbert, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Mountain View Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Pineville, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Graveside services were held Wednesday, April 6, 2022, in the Angel Cemetery with Bro. Hap Strunk officiating. He was born February 3, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, to Harry Lee Helbert, and Treva Alberta Rhinehart Helbert. Buckeye was a member of the Somerset Baptist Church and retired from Tecumseh Corp. He enjoyed listening to Elvis, working outside, taking care of his automobiles, and a good cup of coffee. Preceding him in death were his parents, and his half-brother, Richard Wayne Johnson. Survivors include son, Eric Shane Helbert, daughter, Leslie Eldridge, and husband, Billy, the mother of his children, Carolyn Helbert, grandchildren, Andrea Bruce, Trenton Helbert, Jaxon Miller, and Lily Anne Helbert, and special aunts, Helen Wolfe, Phyllis McNay, and Ruth Rasor. Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Dearld "Buckeye" Helbert.
