Delmer Eugene Stanfill age 80 years, 5 months, and 30 days of Pine Knot, Kentucky Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at his home. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 3, 2016, at 11:00am in the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Neal officiating. Burial followed in the Pine Knot Cemetery. He was born in Pine Knot, Kentucky on March 1, 1936 the son of Ernest and Mosie Pearl (Privett) Stanfill. Delmer was a member of the Orie S. Ware Masonic Lodge #874 and Laurel Heights Order of the Eastern Star #288. He served his country in the US Army and retired from Ford Motor Company as a welder and as a Bus Driver from the McCreary County School System. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elwanna (Manning) Stanfill; brother, Bill Stanfill; sister, Doris Cornelius; and an infant brother. Survivors include his sons, Delmer E. Stanfill, Jr. and wife, Karen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and David Wayne Stanfill and wife, Sheila of Hamilton, Ohio; daughter, Sharon Murphy and husband, Pat of Greer, South Carolina; brother, Roger Stanfill of Norwood, Ohio; and sister, Pauline Chitwood of Strunk, Kentucky; grandchildren, Bryan Murphy, Jason Murphy, Nicholas Stanfill, Desiree Walters, Andrew Molina, Nick Wisdom, and Emerald Wisdom; and great grandchildren, Joseph Hill, Christopher Hill, Alex Hill, Randall Stanfill, Brandon Bednez, Bryan Bednez, Paisley Grace Murphy, Tristan Walters, Danielle Wisdom, and Cameron Wisdom. Hickman Strunk Funeral Home served the family of Delmer E. Stanfill.
