Dessie June Grundy, age 78 years, 8 months, and 12 days, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022, at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 18, 2022, in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Hap Strunk officiating. Burial followed in the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery. She was born October 1, 1943, in Barthell, Kentucky to Sedley King and Ester Boyatt King. Dessie enjoyed traveling, visiting, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She will forever be remembered as a mother and grandmother full of love. Preceding her in death were her parents, sisters, Betty Parson, Louise Johnson, and Helen Kidd, and 3 grandchildren . Survivors include sons, Jerry Grundy Sr., Terry Grundy, and wife, Misty, Larry "Rick" Grundy, and Justin Grundy, and wife, Michelle, daughter, Sherry Slavey, sisters, Judy Ridner, and husband, Lanny, and Georgia Alene Harper, 18 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Dessie June Grundy.
