Donald Dixon, age 91, of the Cooperative community, husband of Barbara Dixon, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025 at his home and was placed in the care of Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Worley and Bro. Dale Rose officiating. Burial was in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery.

He was born May 23, 1933 in White Oak Junction to James H. Dixon and Rosie Mae Flynn Dixon. Donald was a coal miner for the Stearns Coal and Lumber Company before his retirement and a member of the Cherokee United Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and found great pleasure in family gatherings.

His parents, a daughter, Jessica Dixon, infant sister, Effie Dixon, and brothers, Cecil Dixon, Hobert Dixon, James Lonnie Dixon, Roy Gene Dixon, and Hershell Lee Dixon precede him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Dixon, whom he married June 22, 1974, sons; Donald Chad Dixon, Donald Sheldon Dixon, and Jeremy Alan Dixon, a daughter; Millie Ann Rose (Dale) Rose, a brother; James Harrison Dixon, Jr., sisters; Clara Winchester and Betty Imogene Burden, several grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
